Meridian Tapping, of which EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is the most popular form, is a tool used to clear emotional conflicts in our minds and in our bodies. It is basically a stress-relief technique that combines modern psychology with some practices and principles of traditional Chinese medicine.
During an EFT sequence technique, we tap with our fingertips on the specific acupuncture points on our face and body while tuning to the problem that is bothering us. We address the issue and then when ready we establish new patterns and ideas that are healthier for us. One of the theories why tapping works is because emotional issues cause disturbances in the energy fields and taking care of those while stimulating our meridians (energy channels) takes the energy back into balance, restoring the ability to heal. Meridian tapping began with psychologist Dr. Roger Callahan, who developed TFT (Thought Field Therapy), which was very effective but difficult to follow. Then Gary Craig, a student of Callahan’s simplified the process into one singular formula called EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques).
Dr. Fuentes-Valdes participated in the Tapping World Summit in 2013, brought up by the Tapping Solution founded by the Ortner siblings to provide people with the opportunity to release stress and find balance in their lives and live happier.
